About
A composer and educator first
Nick McConnaughey is a composer, arranger, and educator based in DFW, Texas. His work for the marching arts and percussion ensemble spans multiple continents, with a focus on writing music that is both expressive and genuinely playable by the people performing it.
Alongside composing and arranging, he teaches private lessons at Southlake Carroll High School, as well working with the percussion ensemble, along with traveling to work with the ensembles programming his work.
During the summer, Nick teaches the front ensemble at the Boston Crusaders, along with some of his best friends.
He is also active as a marching band adjudicator on the USBands circuit, Florida Marching Band Championships (FMBC), judging programs across the Continental US.
